OVERVIEW 

Secondary education is the level after basic education. The teachers at the secondary education level work with teenagers who are struggling with identity issues. These students also are at the stage where they need to prepare for higher education or the world of work. At this level the teachers teach specific subject area, such as Arts, English, Science, or Mathematics. This course will support participants get a deeper knowledge of how to facilitate learning using different pedagogical skills. They will also learn how to organize effective lessons, support students to learn life skills and integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) in order to build 21st century skills like critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity and problem solving. 

 LEARNING OBJECTIVES

 At the end of the training, the participants will be able to: 

• understand theories of learning; 

• design lessons effectively; 

• assist students to explore and learn using missed methods;

 • create flexible environment for learning using appropriate materials;

 • apply critical thinking skills in the learning process;

 • teach problem-solving skills;

 • setting effective learning objectives; and 

• integrate STEAM concepts in teaching and learning.
